Yet again, kiters have made the press for someone being stupid and getting hurt. The media just loves to feed on kiters, and make it look like a stupidly dangerous sport. Anyways, a man kiting on Hayling Island was lifted by a gust, and thrown into a cliff face. Luckily Chris Bull of the Hayling Island Kitesurfing Association stepped in and explained the situation, encourging people to come try the sport, and that with the right training and gear, the sport can be safe.
Following up from our first post about kiters on Twitter, I want to share a bunch of awesome people to follow on Twitter.

Here is the type of video I’ve been waiting for. Someone filming kiteboarding life, and its true beauty. Not just cool tricks, but the lifestyle. I can’t explain just how excited I am about this flick…it just looks beautiful! (Though I suppose I may be a bit biased considering it seems like they stole my iPod for the soundtrack…)

This weeks song comes from Wilco, and their old single, What Light. The song is a great folk sounding sing a long, with the fantastic refrence to kites:
And if you’re strung out like a kite
Or stung awake in the night
It’s alright to be frightened
The much beloved jumping foil, the Flexifoil Blade, will soon show a new model. The images have been leaked, and work through the grapevine is that the Flexifoil team riders are getting their sets soon. Commercial release should be soon, as they will attempt to captalize on the summer.
